During the Great Depression there were actually quite a few bosses with the decency to jump. Current bosses stuff their bonuses and party on, yelling for the gouvernment to spend peoples money to save their sorry asses. Bloody wankers.
In the Great Depression, the bosses had often lost all they owned themselves. Under the current system, there’s no downside risk - only potential rewards. I think the government should seize the assets of the top bankers - surely they constitute proceeds of crime, the crime having been criminally irresponsible with other people’s money.
